Volunteering

Member Volunteering

Pied Piper Toy Library is run by its members, supported by expert coordinators paid through membership fees. Member participation is essential to the toy library!

Members are required to complete five hours of volunteer work (2x 2.5 hour sessions) each membership year in order to qualify for the refundable Volunteer Duty Bond of $50.*

Volunteer activities usually include assisting during opening hours with checking returns, counting pieces and assisting other members, under the supervision of the session’s paid coordinator.

You can sign up for volunteer sessions online via your SeTLS account.

If you can’t make your session, let us know as soon as possible via email and reschedule for another time.

*If all of your volunteer duty hours are completed during the year your $50 duty bond is refunded in full or rolled over should you wish to renew your membership.

Join the Committee!

There are other opportunities to volunteer, such as with repairing toys, helping with fundraising or participating in the Pied Piper Toy Library Committee. Committee members do not have to attend opening hours, and meetings are run at 8pm on the 2nd Wednesday of every month (hybrid in-person and virtual meeting).

Community Volunteering

Community volunteers are always welcome. It’s great to have people from all different walks of life be part of the toy library. We have regular volunteering opportunities available for high school students through to retirees, as well as one-off activities and working bees.

Do you like to fix things? Do you like to sew? Do you have skills in marketing, accounting or business management? Are you a keen gardener? We would love your help! We also love help from organisations looking to participate in working bees as a team-building activity. Contact the committee committee@pptl.org.au.
